Position Summary
NCJWC Toronto is looking for a skilled and passionate leader who can help us build for the future. The Director of Development is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing an integrated fundraising and development strategy that supports both local (Toronto) and on occasion, national initiatives. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director and working with the NCJWC Toronto leadership team,the Director of Development will help to build and sustain a culture that enhances NCJWC Toronto’s capacity to achieve its mission of social justice, and community service and strengthen NCJWC Toronto’s financial growth.This is a full time, hybrid position and will focus on relationship building, donor cultivation, stewardship, solicitation and long-term growth.
This role is ideal for someone who sees themself as an agent of change and growth. The successful candidate is a people person and believes in the capacity of Jewish women to make a difference in bettering their community. They are a natural ‘connector’ and thrives on relationship building and in seeing opportunities to bring donor support to both established and new programs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising Strategy and Leadership- Develop and implement a comprehensive, integrated fundraising plan that supports programs in Toronto and aligns with national initiatives as required.
- Provide advice and guidance from time to time to NCJWC Sections across Canada.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to set annual and multi-year revenue targets.
- Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects at both the national and local levels.
- Represent NCJWC Toronto in the absence of the Executive Director or as required.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Develop customized engagement strategies for high potential donors.
- Work with the ED and volunteer leaders to advance NCJWC Toronto’s profile among current and prospective funders.
- Support the ED and President in donor meetings and solicitation and stewardship activities.
- Plan and execute Toronto fundraising initiatives, including campaigns, and special events.
- Work with the Director of Communications to develop messaging and materials that ensure consistency in branding and messaging.
- Research and prepare grant proposals, reports, and funding applications.
- Collaborate with staff to articulate funding needs and demonstrate impact through data and storytelling.
- Oversee a donor management system (CRM) for both NCJWC Toronto and provide occasional guidance to the National organization (NCJWC).
- Establish and maintain consistent donor tracking, reporting, receipting and recognition protocols.
- Produce regular fundraising reports and analytics for the ED and as required.
- Ensure donor communications, acknowledgements, and materials reflect organizational mission and values.
- Work collaboratively with the ED, National and Toronto Boards, and Section leaders to ensure cohesive messaging and donor engagement across the organization.
- Participate in organizational planning sessions and cross-functional initiatives.
