Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Remote Freight Broker Agent (Commission Based), where you'll play a vital role in connecting shippers with reliable carriers to facilitate seamless freight transportation. This energetic position offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in supply chain management, transportation logistics, and customer relationship management to grow your career in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. As a key player in our logistics network, you will manage freight contracts, negotiate rates, and develop strong relationships with clients and carriers—all from the comfort of your home office. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage freight shipments by matching shippers’ needs with suitable carriers using transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software.
- Negotiate rates, terms, and contracts with carriers and clients to ensure profitable and efficient freight solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through inside sales efforts, account management, and regular communication to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Generate leads through proactive outreach, market research, and leveraging data entry tools like EDI and AS400 to identify new business opportunities.
- Oversee transportation planning, dispatching, and logistics sales activities to optimize routes, pricing strategies, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as FDA regulations when applicable, along with adherence to safety standards like 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) protocols and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, contracts, pricing agreements, and carrier details while utilizing transportation management systems for data entry and tracking purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales; experience with 3PL or NVOCC is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CRM software, transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and AS400 platforms.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to build lasting customer relationships through effective account management.
- Familiarity with freight pricing strategies, transportation planning, dispatching processes, and carrier sales techniques.
- Ability to handle data entry accurately while managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations related to shipping processes is advantageous but not mandatory.
