Personal Assistant Chatham up to 6 hours term time and 30 hours school holidays £14.50 P/H<br>Role: Personal Assistant<br>Hours: School term time (39 weeks per year): Up to 6 hours per week. Days and times to be agreed and flexible.<br>School holidays (13 weeks per year): Up to 30 hours per week, flexible to support a mix of activities and family needs. Exact days and times to be agreed.<br>Location: Chatham<br>A personal assistant is required to support a friendly and sociable young woman with a rare medical condition that affects her mobility. The client enjoys being out in the community and is looking for a fun, energetic and reliable PA who can support her to stay active, social and independent.<br>The role will be primarily community-based, supporting her to access activities she enjoys, spend time with friends, and build her confidence and independence, with some elements of personal care and home support included.<br>The client has a great sense of humour and enjoys animals, art, shopping, musical shows and music (especially Ed Sheeran). She is keen to meet up with friends and would benefit from a PA who is confident, positive and engaging.<br>Responsibilities<br>Building a positive, consistent and trusting relationship.<br>Support to access community activities such as shopping, social outings, creative activities and leisure interests.<br>Supporting socialising with friends and promoting independence.<br>Elements of personal care, including support with showering, dressing and toileting.<br>Safe use of equipment, including hoists.<br>Supporting safe travel and transfers in and out of vehicles.<br>Following agreed care plans, medical guidance and emergency protocols if required.<br>Planning and supporting enjoyable, age‑appropriate activities.<br>Providing reassurance and support to help the client to feel confident and included.<br>About You<br>Friendly, energetic, patient and reliable.<br>Confident supporting a young adult with physical care needs.<br>Comfortable working flexibly, including weekends and school holidays.<br>Able to follow medical and emergency protocols calmly.<br>Experience of hoists and manual handling.<br>Manual handling training up to date.<br>A driver is required for this role to support community access.<br>Key Responsibilities<br>Personal Care<br>Social + Leisure activities<br>Support to remain independent<br>Self Employed<br>Training<br>Moving & Handling<br>Transportation<br>Full UK driving license<br>Own personal car<br>Can drive a motability equipped car<br>This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check (cost covered by employer) and references.<br>#J-18808-Ljbffr Salary: GBP 30000 - 30000 per year
