Every role at the College contributes to helping people achieve their potential.</p> <h2>About The Role</h2> <p>As a Learning Support Officer, you will play a vital role in enabling learners with additional needs to access education, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll provide tailored support across a range of curriculum areas, helping students build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need for future success. Grow your career with strong progression opportunities and continuous development; many of our Learning Support Officers have progressed into other careers across the college. This is a term time only role. Interviews will be held on 12th and 13th May. You would start in August 2026 as part of an exciting new academic year.</p> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Provide in-class and 1:1 support to learners with SEND, enabling access to the curriculum</li> <li>Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning strategies and resources</li> <li>Support learners’ personal development, independence, and positive behaviours for learning</li> <li>Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and engagement </li><li>Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support planning, review, and intervention processes</li> <li>Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments</li> </ul> <h2>Skills And Experience</h2> <ul> <li>Experience supporting learners with SEND (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships</li> <li>Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learner needs</li> <li>Good organisational skills, with experience maintaining accurate records</li> <li>A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to inclusion and learner success</li> </ul> <h2>Why join us</h2> <p>We offer a supportive working environment with opportunities to develop and progress.
