Job Summary
We are excited to offer Extended Preschool Teacher positions for the 2026-2027 school year at St Timothy's Christian Preschool, designed to support early childhood development through engaging and nurturing classroom experiences. As an Extended Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in implementing curriculum, supporting social-emotional growth, and promoting literacy and numeracy skills in a dynamic preschool setting. This paid position provides an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early learning journeys while working collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators.

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum tailored to early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate Montessori methods, classroom management strategies, and individualized learning approaches.
  • Support children’s developmental milestones by applying knowledge of childhood development, behavior management techniques, and special education practices.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence among preschoolers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that promote literacy education, early intervention strategies, and overall child welfare.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and developmental needs.
  • Maintain detailed classroom records, including attendance, progress reports, and assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements when applicable.

Experience

  • Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is required with a minimum of 12 ECE units.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles, including curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with play based or other child-centered educational philosophies is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
  • Background in classroom management and behavior management techniques suitable for toddlers and preschoolers.
