Chemical Engineer Research & Development

Responsibilities

  • Research & Material Development
    • Design and synthesize rare-earth-free magnetic materials (e.g., ferrites, Fe-based alloys).
    • Develop nanocomposites and advanced functional materials for improved magnetic/electrochemical performance.
    • Study structure–property relationships using advanced material characterization.
  • Electrolysis & Hydrogen Production
    • Design and optimize electrolysis systems (alkaline, PEM, or solid oxide).
    • Improve hydrogen generation efficiency, electrode stability, and catalyst performance.
    • Work on gas evolution kinetics (HER/OER) and electrolyte optimization.
  • Experimental Design & Testing
    • Plan and conduct laboratory experiments for material synthesis and electrochemical testing.
    • Use techniques such as:
      • XRD, SEM, TEM (material characterization)
      • Electrochemical Workstation (CV, EIS, LSV)
      • Magnetic property measurements (VSM)
  • Process Development & Scale-Up
    • Translate lab-scale findings into pilot-scale processes.
    • Optimize parameters like temperature, pressure, current density, and electrolyte composition.
    • Ensure reproducibility and scalability of developed technologies.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze experimental data using scientific tools and modeling.
    • Prepare technical reports, research papers, patents, and project documentation.
    • Present findings to internal teams or external stakeholders.
  • Innovation & Collaboration
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (materials science, physics, mechanical engineering).
    • Stay updated with emerging technologies in:
      • Sustainable magnets
      • Green hydrogen and electrochemical systems
    • Contribute to grant proposals and research funding applications.

Education

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of:
    • Electrochemistry and electrolysis
    • Magnetic materials and solid-state chemistry
    • Nanomaterials synthesis techniques
  • Hands‑on experience with:
    • Electrochemical systems
    • Material characterization tools
  • Familiarity with simulation/modeling tools is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability

  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in hydrogen production technologies
  • Work on rare-earth alternatives in magnet design
