The Instructional Coach - Signature Program facilitates the day-to-day functions of his/her respective signature program to ensure that school-based personnel are meeting implemenation requirements to include: instructional best-practices, program and fiscal management, professional development, partnership development and data reporting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • CERTIFICATION:
    • Must hold or be eligible for a certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
    • Leadership Certificate preferred
  • EDUCATION:
    • Masters degree required
  • WORK EXPERIENCE:
    • 3 years of successful teaching experience required.
    • Teaching experience in program is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies such as concept-based, inquiry-based or problem/project-based learning.
  • Knowledgeable of planning effective lessons, unit development, and assessing students performance.
  • Ability to model best instructional practices.
  • Knowledgeable with international, state and national standards.
  • Ability to implement IB, STEM or College and Career Readiness programs and services (orogram applying for).
  • Experience with fiscal management (e.g. budgeting).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Promotes district instructional priorities by providing support and demonstration of the following skills: training, modeling coaching; instructional guidance necessary for the operation of the instructional program.
  • Ensures fidelity of implementation of the site based comprehensive reform model via monitoring and observation.
  • Conducts informal classroom observations and provides feedback to teachers and assists with the development of new teachers.
  • Facilitates professional learning communities and assists teachers with collaborative lesson planning.
  • Monitors students' progress and arranges for academic interventions based on formative and summative assessments.
  • Conducts analysis of formative and summative student data and recommends modifications to instruction.
  • Uses observation and achievement data to identify professional development needs and designs and delivers site based professional learning.
  • Assists with reviewing classroom lesson plans and provides lesson plan feedback to teachers.
  • Serves as a facilitator to engage parents in gaining a level of exposure and understanding as it relates to the comprehensive reform model.
  • When in a school-based learning environment, monitors students' movement throughout the building to other classrooms, learning areas and cafeteria.Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
  • Responsible for wiping down surfaces to uphold sanitation standards as required for safe school environment.
  • Assists administrators and other staff members in the orderly, expedient and safe transition of students from one location to another.
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

Upper Body Mobility: Ability to use hands to grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis. Incumbent may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict.
Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.
Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Understand how to manage stress.
Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person and various classroom learning environments.
